2015 Event – Earth Day Celebration

ReStore’s 1st Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 25, was a huge success!

Collaborating with Knight Electonics in Salida, ReStore advertising in local papers and radio stations advised the public to bring anything that plugs in, including electronics and large appliances.  With the help of fifteen volunteers, the resulting pile measured 5 feet deep, 65 feet long and 20 feet deep.

Store Manager Clark Poos knew the event would be big but he didn’t predict the huge turnout with 1 to 3 cars in line all day from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Festivities during the day included live music by Randy and Carol Barnes and a live KVRH remote.  Spoon It Up provided soup and bread.  (Owner Ryan McFadden is opening a new restaurant in the old State Highway building on Main Street.)  The Chaffee County Humane Society brought animals to be adopted and Jumpin Good Goat Dairy brought goats (not for adoption but GREAT for cheese).

This was a one day event.  The ReStore accepts large and small appliances and some electronics that are in good working order and acceptable for resale.

We DO NOT accept any CRTs (old, large box TVs and computer consoles) or any appliances/electronics not in working order.
